We have two dates left in December (4th and 11th) for booking I.V. Sedation surgery. Please call our office to schedule your appointment before the end of the year to maximize your dental benefits. I would be happy to help you organize optimal use of your dental insurance. Of course, we also have many dates available for other types of surgery including Oral Sedation, Moderate Sedation, or Local Anaesthetic.
We can still book your oral surgery at our Burnaby office before school resumes. Please give us a call so we can book an appointment for you. We offer IV sedations and oral sedations for all types of oral surgery including third molar (wisdom teeth) removal, biopsies, and implants.
It’s hard to believe, but here we are at the start of a new year; how quickly the seasons slip into each other until four have passed and another year is gone and we turn the calendar to January. Great News! Our office has been granted approval from the College of Dental Surgeons for offering Moderate IV Sedation. This means Dr. Gumplinger can now administer a single drug intravenously, which creates a relaxed and drowsy feeling for the patient. This is a cost effective and safe method of sedation and is a comfortable option for some patients. We also offer Oral Sedation and Deep IV Sedation, depending on the needs of the individual patient.

We have now completed our dental software upgrade and are up and running. We are pleased to have full function again, except for the letter portion of the program which is still not working properly, hence, the handwritten letters. This should be resolved shortly.
We await the authorization from the College of Dental Surgeons to provide Moderate Sedation for our oral surgery patients. The course, which Dr. Gumplinger has completed, should be approved soon. Once the approvals are granted, we will be happy to talk to our patients about this additional type of sedation. We will, of course, still offer IV sedation and oral sedation. Please contact our office should you have any questions.
